Nombre Noir at The Perfumer's Studio



The Perfumer’s Studio is pleased to announce the inauguration of its ongoing exhibition program on with a presentation of Nombre Noir, an exceptionally rare perfume from 1981.

Running through Dec. 22, the exhibition allows visitors to the gallery to experience what perfume critic Luca Turin dubbed one of the five greatest perfumes of all time in his book “The Secret of Scent.” Turin went on to call Nombre Noir “a radical surprise” and “an epiphany,” while Mark Behnke of Colognoisseur has said Nombre Noir is perfumery’s “equivalent to Citizen Kane.”

Perfume lovers the world over have sought this mythic unicorn of a fragrance for over three decades, with very few ever having smelled what is considered by many to be the holy grail of designer perfumery. Read more...
